Carp Destined For DL

If you can find a silver-lining in this article, please let me know in the comments.

From the article:
The “fortunate thing”, according to Carpenter, is that he’s sure it has nothing to do with his elbow — which is twice surgically repaire in the past two years — nor is it anything related to the nerve condition he had in his right shoulder. The strain is on the opposite side of the body.

“It will just take time,” Carpenter said.

Grrrrrreat.

Is that really a "fortunate thing"? Now he's injured in 2 places rather than one. And a rib cage injury seems terrible for a pitcher. Yeah... there's no "fortunate thing" here.

I don't understand, did Carp call it a fortunate thing or was that Derrick Goold expressing his own skepticism? I am sure this is more difficult for Carp than anyone, but I don't see a silver-lining to this for exactly the same reason you don't, Dave.
